Fate and following my career brought me to southwest Washtenaw County in September 1988. I remember driving around Manchester and even in the early fall it seemed so green compared to Oklahoma. I immediately fell in love with the gentle rolling hills, the farms, and the nineteenth century Village. Manchester had all the charm a place could offer, but more importantly was the sense of community I felt with the people, something I never knew I missed until I found it.
Unfortunately, in 1992 my career took me away from the Village, as far away as Asia, Europe, and even South America, but in all those travels, Manchester still provided me a sense of home I’ve never found anywhere else.
Since leaving Manchester, I would periodically shop property in and around the Village. Over the years, I had looked at forty-seven homes and parcels in the area, none of which offered the right combination of features until July 3, 2017 when I visited 328 River Bend Drive.
